Saris Trunk Bike Racks Review - 2014 Honda CR-V

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today I'm taking a look at the Saris Bones EX 3. Now this is also available in a two bike version, today is our three. And we're gonna be doing this on a 2014 Honda CRV. Now as you can tell, this is a trunk-mounted style. And what that means is you're not using a hitch to attach it, it simply hangs onto the vehicle and uses leverage and the weight itself to hold it in place. more

Thule OutWay Trunk Bike Rack Review - 2015 Honda Civic

Hello, I'm Brad at etrailer, and today we're installing the Thule Outway, on our 2015 Honda Civic. This is a trunk mounted bike rack that holds three bikes, so let's get to it. Okay, we'll begin by putting the feet underneath the trunk, and lightly pressing. Once your feet are hooked underneath the trunk, you can begin to pull up slightly and the legs will extend. The mounting points up top are two 90 degree angles. Loosening this knob will allow this to adjust angle, finding a secure fit. more

Thule OutWay Trunk Bike Rack Review - 2015 Honda Civic TH45JV

Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we are looking at our Thule OutWay two-bike trunk-mounted bike rack here on our 2015 Honda Civic. So the Thule OutWay is a really cool bike rack because let's say you don't have a hitch on your Civic or you're unable to get a hitch on your Civic, this gives you the option to carry around two bikes safely and easily with all of its different features. It has everything included like your straps or your different mounting feet just to get this into place. You have some straps that go through the top, and it's very easy to install. As you can see, all I need to do now is put these latches back in, tighten it down, and that's pretty much it for the install process. Let's take a look at the other features this bike rack has. more

So, let's take a look at some of the features.Starting from the outside and working our way in, we have this integrated cable lock system which pulls out from here and will wrap around your second bike that you have installed, and simply just latch on from here right there. Once you remove your bike need to unlock it, you'll get a set of keys. You simply just insert it into the notch right there and lock it, and you can unload your bikes. On the other side, as always for Yakima, we have the bottle opener on the end. Come to the cradles, we're going to see that they don't move at all, so they don't pivot back and forth or slide up and down the rack. more

Speaker 1: Today in our 2016 Honda Pilot we're gonna be test fitting the Yakima fold back two bike rack part number Y02634. We already have a bike installed on the rack so let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. This is one of the more higher end hatch mount and bike racks that you're gonna see out there, starting at the ends here we're gonna have the patented Yakima bottle opener on one, and this comes with a lot of the Yakima bike racks. And on the other end we're gonna have the integrated cable lock. You would actually take it out, wrap it around the outer frame of the outer bike and attach it to this point here and lock it in place to secure your bikes in place once everything's done. Moving to the cradles, these are gonna be stationary meaning they don't move back and forth or side to side, however they do have this TPE padding at the base here and that's gonna act as kind of a shock absorber for your frame while you're traveling and help protect it. It's also gonna be padded along the bottom side of our zip strips here as well where it makes contact with your bike frame. It's gonna hold your bike at three points, we'll have two zip strips up at the top two here, one off to the side which is gonna serve as an anti-sway cradle to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth and causing bike to bike contact. more
